I first came to Sylvan Lake 11 years ago, ready to start a new life. A year later, I took my parent’s suggestion to start Karate, as they thought it would help me in many aspects of my life. As time went on with my training, I started to gain confidence, self-defense, and filled a hole that a piece of my life needed filling. When I achieved my Black Belt in 2016, I thought that my martial arts career was done, however I kept coming back for classes and training and 2 years later I realized that Karate was a part of me, and I could do more than just training and started instructing others, which I really enjoy.
