I started Karate when I was 9, with the original Arashi-Do school in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. I started leading classes in Rocky when I was 14. I received my black belt in 1998, and continued to teach for a couple years, before taking some time off from martial arts. I was off and on for many years, and then came back to martial arts in 2015, full time.
My first year back, I lost 70 lbs., and trained hard for an amateur Muay Thai fight, and it had me hooked again. I started training constantly again, and went on to win my first black belt sparring grand champion, at the Capital City Championships tournament. I realized I wanted to start to teach again and began assisting with instruction at the Rocky dojo again.
In 2018, we opened our new dojo in Olds, Alberta, and I received my second-degree black belt in 2019.
I teach classes in Karate, Muay Thai, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It is my passion to help people, achieve their goals in their martial arts journey.
