I am originally from Japan. I came to Canada back in 1996 to study English, and met some people from Arashi-Do Martial Arts. I started karate to be healthy and quickly I discovered that it was more than just a workout for me. I wanted to be better every day and could not get enough of karate.
I have competed in many tournaments in Alberta in order to test myself. I earned my first degree black belt with highest points on November 25, 2000. I have been an instructor since I received my black belt in 2000. I have won grand championships for both form and sparring. On October 23rd 2004, I received my second degree black belt. In 2005, I challenged myself to compete in the Canadian National tournament. I placed 2nd for adult women traditional forms, 1st for continuous sparring. It was a great experience for me to see what was out there.
After some time off having two kids, I went back to train harder to accomplish my 3rd degree black belt. I worked hard to prove that I can still do martial arts after my long break. Since 2011, I started to train Muay Thai Kickboxing under Khru Jason and Khru Chris. I found another passion besides karate. I am currently at brown prajied. I would love to stay focused and to achieve my black prajied someday.
It has been a crazy and fun journey for me and I am so glad that I met Karate and Muay Thai kickboxing.
